Information Overload

I was under the impression life slowed down when you got older. I’m not sure that’s really happening for me. Seems I’m busy these days learning three different ways to do the same thing, only to have a fourth creeping around the corner. Not that I don’t like learning new things…but each in its turn, right? Not a dogpile.

I’ve often compared my working life to Bill Cosby’s analogy of his role as a father being a hockey goalie (this was before we realized what Bill Cosby actually was and genuinely enjoyed his comedy). Projects and problems come at me and I knock them back into play. Problem is I feel like there’s too many of them coming my way and I can’t defend against them all.

This could be the first year I feel I’ve genuinely earned my vacation…
